Digital transformation impacts us every day whatever our job.

To successfully tackle it, the Michelin Group has implemented the necessary tools to develop the employee's digital culture, in particular through the "Digital Culture" e-learning platform.

But the digital transformation is, above all, tools to exchange, create, collaborate and innovate on a daily basis.

We @ Work is a set of collaborative tools that make us progress in a fun and enjoyable way, towards more empowerment and innovation to create tomorrow.

We adapt spaces according to professional and personal needs

From our factories to our tertiary sites, from Clermont-Ferrand to Shanghai, Michelin is distinguished by a collaborative approach to modernizing living, working and rest areas.

To make you live an experience at the forefront of new ways of working tomorrow, we propose spaces offset, contemporary in the service of collective intelligence.

The spaces dedicated to conviviality, sport and relaxation will also allow you to take a deep breath.

A glimpse of workspaces in the Michelin Group...

new michelin office in moscow

Comfortably nestled in soundproofed sofas, employees can leave behind their everyday environment and take a break, read, focus, read the daily press, have a hushed conversation or even organize an informal meeting with an unobstructed view over "Les Carmes" campus in Clermont-Ferrand.

* The new Michelin office in Russia, built in the Living & Green Office concept, marks a new chapter in the history of the company's successful development in the region, achieved thanks to the maximum involvement of each employee.

* Office area of 1,800 sq. m.  is located in the modern business center Arkus-4 in the north-west of Moscow.

* The space provides for various formats of work, and also has areas for rest and meetings with partners in an atmosphere of comfort and openness.

The new office was a reward for the achieved results and an investment in further development and growth.

It was originally designed for the future in order to be ready for transformations for new tasks and formats of work, which will appear with changes of Michelin Group, which has set a goal to produce tires 100% from renewable materials by 2050. Therefore, the new Michelin home in Russia was created in the concept of Living & Green Office and in addition to attention to the environment, this means that the space is organized in such a way that each employee will find a suitable work area with comfort for personal space, without losing touch with colleagues.

The new office reflects not only changes in the company, but it will also become a symbol of recognition and gratitude to each employee for hard work, which allows Michelin to strengthen its position in Russia and the countries of the Eastern European division every year. People are the main asset of the Michelin Group and the new space is designed to unlock the potential of each member of the Michelin team.

At the stage of project work, employees tested various workstation options to choose the most comfortable and cozy options, and also shared ideas and wishes for a new space. The transition to a hybrid mode of work, which implies presence in the office only three days a week, had a significant impact on the layout and overall organization of the office. A new approach to the layout of office space, where everyone, including top management, work in a common space, allows to increase the synergy from the interaction of teams of different departments to improve the quality and further expand the range of solutions offered by Michelin to consumers and partners.

Many meeting rooms of various formats are provided for holding working meetings: large ones are named after planets and stars, and small ones are dedicated to outstanding scientists, researchers and artists. General meetings and master classes from invited speakers will be held in the spacious Plaza area, which is also suitable for informal communication during the day. The library will become a "space of silence” for working in a peaceful environment. On the territory of the office there are soundproof booths where you can retire for a phone call.

With all the abundance of possible options for the implementation of tasks, the main ones are the workstations placed along the outer perimeter of the room. The new tables are designed taking into account modern needs for using several devices at once and the ability to change the height for standing work. They have built-in multiple sockets and USB connectors, as well as wireless charging.

Reducing the environmental impact is one of the three key aspects of the Michelin Group's activities and development both at the global level and in Russia. Therefore, the idea of organizing a space that implements the ideas of reasonable consumption from the point of view of design and functioning was taken into account from the first planning stage. Sorting garbage is familiar to the company's employees, and this useful activity will continue in the new office. To reduce the amount of waste, it was decided to reduce the number of MFPs for printing on paper and completely abandon bottled water, instead filtration stations with hot, cold and sparkling water were installed.

Increasing the energy efficiency of the room is achieved through centralized air conditioning and local dispatching of light. LED sources are combined into a single system that forms comfortable and natural lighting of workplaces, depending on the availability of sunlight and the fullness of space. This scheme allows you to save energy and optimize the consumption of lighting devices.

The new office will allow Michelin to be more open and accessible for interaction with partners.

Creativity rooms for tackling issues from a different angle

From Central Office to the country sites, creativity rooms are designed with the look and feel of a private home to put people at ease. These areas have draw-on wall spaces for giving free rein to the interplay of ideas. Furnished with colorful contemporary-designer furniture and decorated with a vintage touch, they create a casual, relaxed atmosphere around sofas, armchairs and coffee tables to encourage an exchange of ideas. Meetings are not like they used to be: now people speak openly and dare to ask questions, there is real dialog and trust, and decision-making is easier. The setting encourages people to look at issues and projects from a different, more creative angle and draw on collective intelligence.

Quiet spaces

Comfortably nestled in soundproofed sofas, employees can leave behind their everyday environment and take a break, read, focus, read the daily press, have a hushed conversation or even organize an informal meeting with an unobstructed view over "Les Carmes" campus in Clermont-Ferrand.

Areas set aside for joint endeavors

Cooperation, co-construction, co-innovation... today joint endeavors and cross-company teams are commonplace in the company. Our teams are connected, multidisciplinary, multi-project and open to the outside world - and they have designed a collaborative area that fits their goals and the way they work.

Caster-mounted furniture allows for a very modular layout. Floor-to-ceiling draw-on walls enclose team spaces and give team members ample room for expressing their creativity.

This modern environment would not be complete without a coffee corner, where team members can feel free to chat with colleagues over a cup of tea or coffee.

Self-managed rest and recreation rooms

There are more and more initiatives in production plants to rethink rest and recreation rooms.
